Friends of the Pine Creek Grist Mill


	2005 City of Muscatine Award Friends of the Mill received this 2005 City of Muscatine Excellent in Preservation Award for Outstanding Contributions to Historic Preservation and Heritage Tourism.		DNR 2004 Nomination Friends of the Mill received the 2004 Governor's Volunteer Award for Outstanding Service to the State of Iowa. This nomination was for the thousands of hours Friends have spent restoring the mill, opening the Mill on Sundays, demonstrating the Mill during special events, and for the tour guide program that was implemented in 2004.
	American Council of Engineering Companies of Iowa - 2003 1ST PLACE: The American Council of Engineering Companies of Iowa presented Stanley Consultants the 1st place award in the "2003 Engineering Excellence Awards" program, for projects under $500,000. The award was for the design of the fire suppression system and intrusion alarm systems that were recently installed. Click here to read article.		DNR 2003 Nomination Friends of the Mill was one of 6 projects recommended for the Department of Natural Resources’ “2003 Large Project” volunteer award. This nomination was for the thousands of hours Friends have spent restoring the mill, opening the Mill on Sundays, demonstrating the Mill during special events, and for the tour guide program that was implemented in 2003.
	Take Pride in America 2003 Nomination The United States Department of the Interior nominated Friends for the 2003 “Take Pride in America” award for our efforts “in support of the stewardship of America’s public lands and cultural and historic sites”.		Iowa Department of Natural Resources - 2001 This plaque was presented to the Friends of Pine Creek Grist Mill by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in November of 2001, in recognition of the Mill Friends as having the "Outstanding Volunteer Project" in 2001 by any group connected with the DNR or on DNR land. The award attests to the Mill Friends great dedication and many hours of service to get the mill running and to present the cultural history of the mill to the people of Iowa.
